During the picnic, dad and his brothers disappeared for a while. The brother's had taken him to see some land - HIS land. The family has a plot of land overlooking the town of Velvento, including the foundation of a stone house that my grandfather and Giorgio built. They told him that as a brother in the family, it was also his to build a house on in the future. Wow...what an unexpected gift and just about the best welcome home you could receive in addition to all of the family we've gained.
