Skopelos 3 - First Lunch

We drove back to Alexandra's house, and in the car memories poured out. Alexandra talked about growing up together, about their adoptive parents, her love for Mike and her difficulty with Despina. She reminded him of when she left Florida, how he has cried and said he wished the plane would be broken so she couldn't leave. She told him about later, when Mike retired back to Skopelos, the difficulty they had with his health and the cost of the doctor bills.

When we got to her house (really her summer home and a beautiful hotel overlooking Stafilos beach), Alexandra made us our first of many greek coffees. Then she cooked lunch for us, and her husband Vasili poured the wine and beer. Although we couldn't talk to Vassili with words, he did a good job of communicating through gibberish, hand gestures, and alcohol. The celebration had begun, and it continued on for four amazing days.
