9 - The Three Brothers And The Three Sisters: A Trip To The Blue Mountains

A beautifully sunny day; two cars packed with family and food for a picnic. We took off heading West on the M5 highway out of Sydney to go spend the day in the Blue Mountains. We wanted to get a bit of hiking in and see the 'Three Sisters' rock formation (shown below), one of Sydney's most famous natural attractions. It was only fitting that we took this trip with the three brothers - Theo Nick, Theo Tim and, of course, Little Stefo.

Pictured below are the three brothers with 'The Three Sisters' in the background.

There were so many interesting earth formations and trees around the Three Sisters site. We really enjoyed stopping to see them all. Here are a few of our favorites!

Shabd at the first stop of the 'Giant Staircase' smiling at dad. The staircase went all the way from the top of the mountain to a footpath at the bottom, including somewhere around 1,000 steps in all!

Mom and dad at the top.

We decided to sit down in the grass and have a little family picnic.

Brothers and sisters posing for a photo (cousins Theo and Tina with Shabd and me).

The sun wore us out, so the guys took a little siesta after lunch.
Can you tell they are brothers??

We took one last look before we got back on the road. The clouds and sun provided such an interesting pattern of dark and light greens from the trees. The name "Blue Mountains" was given because of the azure haze coming from the Eucalyptus trees. The picture does no justice to the blue shroud over the valley.

The view almost seems fake, Photoshopped, airbrushed but..................................................this is the real deal.

Absolutely. Breathtakingly. Beautiful.
